While scrolling through video shorts, David stumbled upon a video that would inspire his vision to start a networking group. The video featured a famous social media person approaching successful entrepreneurs asking what they did for a living. In the video, a elderly gentleman in a Bentley revealed that he earned royalties from every credit card transaction in the US as he wrote the software. The idea was always to create a networking hub that was inclusive, supportive, and beneficial for both local businesses and the community. They wanted to foster an environment where small businesses and entrepreneurs could thrive without paying costly subscription fees. They sought to create a networking group where everyone running a small or medium-sized business could participate and benefit and share similar issues. This wasn’t always possible in other networking groups in South Yorkshire.

A lot of the existing networking going on was geared up to the bigger businesses and didn’t really suit small businesses, and often it was costing anything from £700 to £1000 a year. They realised that there was a unique opportunity for subscription free, low-cost networking and decided to set up a non-profit organisation. Even better, they both wanted to support local charities. Giving back to the community and helping local businesses grow stronger together was their motivation.
